In this episode of 22Lightbulbs, we talk with World Hope President and CEO, John Lyon esq. World Hope International is a Christian relief and development organization working with vulnerable and exploited communities to alleviate poverty, suffering and injustice. It works in 15 of the poorest countries in the world, helping all people, regardless of ethnicity, gender, race or religion. They put children first, because they believe that when you empower the youngest generation, you invest in future leaders.
John Lyon is a global development visionary and a licensed law practitioner with 18 years of experience working with World Hope International and 12 years of experience in international law. Prior to this, John served as General Counsel for Joule Africa, a London-based renewable energy company focused on developing hydroelectric and solar energy in Africa. John’s technical experience is with water, sanitation, and construction projects. John served in the United States Peace Corps in Jamaica from 1998 to 2000, where he raised more than $200,000 to build a primary school and helped popularize a typhoid-proof latrine model. John holds a bachelor’s degree from Houghton College and a JD from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law.
PR is not ready for another hurricane. They are still digging out from the last one. If we can continue to get more solar lights and filters in hands of people they’ll be better prepared for next hurricane…
If donors contribute to this campaign, those specific items WILL land in the hands of those in need in Puerto Rico and we’ll be able to show that.
It’s about transparency back to the donors. So the donors know what they’re giving is actually happening.
