In this episode, we chat with Camille van Gestel, the co-founder of WakaWaka (And we also talk Shakira). Camille brings 20 years of experience in product development and manufacturing to the company’s vision to create safe, sustainable solar power and lighting. He’s passionate about solving energy poverty. 

In 2013, Camille delivered a TEDx speech on his mission to share the sun. In 2014, he was nominated as one of the finalists for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ awards. Within five years of creating WakaWaka, it became an award-winning social enterprise that develops, manufactures and markets the world’s most efficient solar flashlights and smartphone chargers. The company is on a mission to provide power and light to  more than a billion people worldwide who don’t have the luxury of a light switch. WakaWaka has now affected the lives of more than a million people worldwide.
